Project Brief
A physical
prototype had been modelled in foam. The designers needed
a 3D CAD model of the dash to check it interfaced correctly
with all other parts of the full assembly of the cab.

As the
foam model was badly damamged, laser scanning was discounted
as it would have captured both the good and the bad areas.
A CMM geometry machine was therefore used to measure the foam
model and capture the good curves and surfaces.
